Özet: Although it is a concept studied in various aspects; poverty is a social problem which is very difficult to define and restrict. Despite poverty problem is addressed both in Turkey and foreign countries globally; cultural, economic and geographical differences are defined in many different ways. However, global perspectives and solutions that have become widespread in the recent years have started to make it easier to understand the concept of poverty than before. Addressing the social problem mentioned before in different ways has been effective in understanding the problem. Concepts such as urban and rural poverty and women's impoverishment have emerged in these different areas. These concepts were researched and by that this social problem has been analyzed from different aspects. These studies have shown that nowadays women have an important place in the fight against poverty. In other countries and Turkey, it can be seen that even today women have less access to education and job opportunities when compared to men. Therefore, women are disadvantaged when it comes to struggle with poverty or encounter poverty when compared to men. The risk exists regardless of living in rural or urban areas. This article aims to reveal that the communities involved in the mentioned poverty problem and the individuals in the society are interrelated.
