Özet: Behavior management for the child in dentistry is not only an art and science but also a crucial step for successful outcomes of therapy, enhancing positive dental attitudes for future visits. Since children exhibit a wide range of development and diversity of attitudes toward dental treatment, it is imperative that dentist adopt different behavior management methods to meet the need of the individual child. The need to diagnose, treat as well as the safety of the patient and practitioner must justify before considering these methods. The aim of this comprehensive review to present on different types protective stabilization available in dentistry, distinguish between physical and mechanical restraints, elucidate some of these mechanical restraints.
