Özet: Background: In India, acute lower respiratory tract infection (ALRI) is one of the major causes of death. During the year 2013, about 31.7 million cases of ALRI were reported. Methodology: It is a prospective study in children aged from 2 months to 5 years who were admitted to the hospital with clinical diagnosis of ALRI. A total of 100 children were included in the study. Results: About 54% were incompletely immunized for age. 52% belonged to families falling under low socioeconomic status (SES). Leukocytosis is 41% and only 18% positive blood culture. There is significant association seen. Conclusion: The present study demonstrated that there is significant association between the status of the immunization and SES with severity if pneumonia.
