Özet: Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. Hypothyroidism is associated with reduced Glomerular filtration rate and hyperthyroidism results in increased GFR as well as increased renin angiotensin aldosterone activation. Chronic Kidney disease (CKD) is characterized by a low T3 syndrome which is now considered a part of an atypical nonthyroidal illness. This review studies probable mechanistic relations between thyroid and kidney disease.
