Özet: The care and protection of children in need of protection is realized through institutional care and family care. The foster family care model, which undertakes the care and upbringing of the child and provides care in the family environment, is one of the family-based care methods. Foster families fulfill the function of caring for the child, who cannot be taken care of by his own family, by taking the place of the own family under the supervision of the institution. This study examining the foster family care model; It is a sociological research carried out in the province of Isparta. In this study, first of all, the relationship between family and child is discussed and general information about the services provided to children in need of protection is given. Then, information about the foster family care model, which has an important place in the child protection system, is given. From the data obtained from the interview technique, the meaning and importance of being a foster family in the province of Isparta, the difficulties and concerns encountered in foster family service, the developments between family members and the child after becoming a foster family were revealed.
