Özet: Purpose: The first steps of many developments in the field of science and technology have been taken in laboratories. The influence of laboratories is an undeniable fact at the point where humanity has come today. Many societies have taken this effectiveness into consideration and have included laboratory practices from the first stages of education. This study was carried out in order to measure the attitudes of classroom teachers who perform laboratory practices in the first level of primary education towards laboratory practices in terms of different variables. However, it was aimed to reveal whether gender and length of service had an effect on the attitudes of classroom teachers towards laboratory practices. Method and Materials: The research was conducted in line with quantitative research patterns and patterned according to the survey design. The study group was determined using the purposeful sampling method and was carried out with the voluntary participation of 203 classroom teachers working in public primary schools in Menemen district of Izmir. The “Laboratory Attitude Scale” developed by Baltürk (2006) with a Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.92 was used as a measurement tool. Results: As a result of the research, it was concluded that the attitudes of classroom teachers towards laboratory practices were positive. While there was a significant difference in attitude according to the gender variable, it was seen that there was no significant difference according to the service time variable.
