Özet: Perception of an architectural structure through the senses begins with seeing. However, the entrance spaces, which are the first spaces that the building establishes a relationship with, are perceived not only by sight but also by other senses and can leave traces in the memory of the user. For example, the sense of hearing a concert hall can be remembered by the traces it leaves on the sense of smell of a restaurant. In this study, in order to examine the concept of sense in the interior space, firstly the concept of sense in architecture was discussed, then the importance of entrance spaces and how the space could be perceived by the senses were emphasized, and in the last section, the concept of senses in the interior was examined specifically for the entrance space of a health building. The health structure chosen as an example is Istanbul Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital. In the study, how the design of the entrance space appeals to the senses of sight, touch, hearing, smell and taste; concept, light, color, material, furniture, artistic elements, installations are discussed in the context of their design and structural features. The general design principles were tried to be reached through the sample examined as a result of the employee, and the design tools that should be able to appeal to the senses of the interior space were emphasized. In addition, inferences have been made on how the interior can be perceived by the senses.
