Özet: The clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat-associated protein9 genome editing system (CRISPR/Cas9) was first discovered in prokaryotic organisms. Then, it was a widely used tool for eukaryotes. According to the other genome editing systems such as ZFNs and TALENs, CRISPR/Cas9 is much more preferred by researchers due to its simplicity and high efficiency. CRISPR /Cas9 vector systems have been developed for applying this technology to numerous plant species. In this study, we present a review of CRISPR/Cas9 system and its application in plant biotechnology.
