Özet: In 21st. century, technology not only developed, but also became a routine of our lives. Within this direction, a paradigm shift has happened not only for society and individuals; but also for education. As a reflection to these changes, new learning environments and approaches appeared in the knowledge society. One of the result of these changes is Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) which meet lifelong learning needs of the individuals. Currently, Massive Open Online Courses can be distributed to learners through traditional (xMOOC), connectivist (cMOOC) or hybrid (hybridMOOC) approaches. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to summarize and synthesize the distributed findings in the literature through narrative review and to provide opinions and recommendations concerning massive open online courses
