Examination of psychological strength and depression levels of mothers with and without hearing-impaired children

Özet: Socio-demographic variables of mothers of children born with hearing impairment and between the ages of 1-5 and mothers of children with normal development, and psychological well–being. This study aims to examine whether there is a significant difference between the levels of depression and depression. This study was carried out in Diyarbakir, among mothers who have children aged 1-5 with hearing impairment and children aged 1-5 with normal development. One hundred and two (102) mothers of 51 hearing-impaired and 51 non-disabled children participated in the study. Demographic information forms created by the researchers for the participants, and Beck’s Depression Inventory adapted by Hisli were used to collect data. Results showed that the depression level of mothers with a child with a hearing impairment is significantly higher than that of mothers with a child with a normally developing child.
