Özet: The aim of the present article is to break down basis security education and approaching the issue of institutionalization and further to give an overview of the institutions, focusing higher security education. Security education should be understood as an effective education system, building security awareness and formation of attitudes to safety behavior and conduct in the context of lifelong learning from pre-school to the education of economically active citizens. The universities education can improve the situation by increasing security awareness, deepening their knowledge and skills related to security, improving the qualifications and skills of graduates, preparing them to risks, emergency and crisis deal in different areas of security. In this context safety education covers theoretical and practical knowledge on the protection of persons and property with versatile use in the European security environment too.
