Özet: Until recent years, Sign Language researchers have been focusing on the similarities between the spoken language and the sign language that is used to define its own natural language. Recent researches, however, focus on the theoretical properties such as categories, relations, notions and the gestural responses rather than the similarities of the spoken language. Taking these differences into account, sign languages are now considered as natural languages on their own. This study reviews the practical researches made on the facial gestures, especially on the eyebrow movements in sign languages in the last 15 years, focusing on the Turkish Sign Language (TSL) and shows that there are just a few researches on eyebrow analysis in the computational area.
