Özet: The main goal of this study was the survey relationship between thinking styles and achievement motivation among students Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences Tehran University with 1321 students. For this purpose, using stratified random sampling with proportional assignment to a sample size 135 (36 male, 99 female) were chosen. In order to collect data from the study of thinking styles questionnaire (sternberg, Wagner and Zhang, 2007) and achievement motivation questionnaire (Bahargava, 1994) was used. Data obtained from questionnaires using Pearson correlation, hierarchical regression and t test for independent groups were analyzed. Results from this study indicated that there are in 0/05 significant relationship between thinking styles and student achievement. Also comparison of boys and girls in the variables showed that the variables between the sexes in achieving motivation, thinking styles (legal, judicial, executive, local, liberal, external, internal) There are significant difference at 0/05 level.
