Özet: This research has been conducted in order to examine the reflection of the indefinite expressions in the legal job definition of the research assistants to their workload. The work group of the research is composed of 286 research assistants working in the faculties of education of four state universities in Ankara. “Opinion Expression Survey Regarding the Working Life of the Research Assistants” which is developed by the researcher is applied to this work group. The study is limited to “work load” and “workload qualification” dimensions which is selected from the eight dimensions included in the survey. The data obtained is analyzed through percentage- frequency and chi-square tests. The findings obtained by the end of the practice concerning the both dimensions show that the opinions of the research assistants who are especially single and who may be considered as new in working life (with respect to age, experience and educational phase) are more positive in proportion to the research assistants who are married and who are working for a longer time. Related to the findings concerning the relevant article which their appointment is based on; significant differences have been found between the opinions of the research assistants who are working within the scope of the Faculty Development Program (OYP) regarding workload and workload qualification and the opinions of the research assistants who are working in accordance with the other relevant articles (33/a, 50/d, 35th Articles).
