Özet: Nowadays many historical buildings around the world wide like United Kingdom, India, Turkey and Iran, converted to new and responsive to contemporary needs. Bath is one example of these buildings that is used as museum, teahouse and restaurants and etc. Preserving historical buildings by adaptive re-use can be discussed as an effective way of achieving sustainability, including cultural, ecological and social aspects. This paper is to evaluate the efficiency of an adaptive reused building in Tabriz, called “Nowbar Public Bath”, which it has been adapted to new utilization as a restaurant and coffee shop. Nowbar Public Bath is located in the central district of Tabriz, next to shopping malls. A research has been carried out through two methods: the Ecotect simulation to analyze the interaction between the building and its environment, meanwhile a survey study has been done in evaluation of the influence of the spaces over its new users. Also the paper presents the new application as a restaurant is not a very appropriate function for these types of identical buildings. Also successful projects can be compared with this sort of buildings architectural and conservation students to be analyzed for educational propose.
