Özet: A mobile ad hoc network sometimes called a mobile mesh network is a self-configuring network of mobile devicesconnected by wireless links. In the absence of a fixed infrastructure, MANET nodes participate to provide routing services, relying on each other to forward packets to their destination. Beside the dynamic topology, the limited energy of nodes isanother characteristic that affects MANET’s performance. This paper inspires from ant and bee colonies to design an energyaware routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks. For this purpose it modifies TORA routing protocol to include meanenergy level of paths and also minimum energy of the path’s nodes in the routing process. The proposed protocol isevaluated through an extensive simulative study in ns-2 environment. Simulation results shows that the proposed protocol exhibit better performance comparing to TORA protocol and gives higher delivery rate and network life time.
