Özet: Proteomic Techniques that allow the identification and quantification of Stress- related proteins, mapping of dynamics of their expression and posttranslational modifications represent an important approach in the research of plant Stresses. Leaf total protein extraction was studied by 2-dimentional electrophoresis .. The gel images analyzed via Progenesis software Vers.2.0. S-adenosylmethionine synthetase and COR (cold-regulated) proteins were two important proteins that showed the significant difference between two temperature treatments. S-adenosylmethionine synthetase (S17) catalyzes the formation of adenosylmethionine, which is the universal methyl donor in transmethylation reactions. Under stress conditions, S-adenosylmethionine synthetase could increase the lignifications by providing the methyl for the polymerization of lignin monomers and reinforce the cell walls to alleviate the damages caused by pathogen attacks. To improve cold-tolerance, plants often enhance expression of some cold-related genes that include COR15a gene encodes a 15 KDa chloroplast-targeted polypeptide. Tthe main function of COR15a protein in Arabidopsis thaliana seems to stabilize thylakoid membranes against freezing-induced damage.
