Özet: Information technologies play important role in many business areas. One of these areas is hotel information systems. Many operations such as check-in, check-out, food and beverage are performed owing to information technologies. Package programs are used for managing hotel operations. Software provides reporting, filtering, remote accessing and cost control services which are important key parameters of decision-making process of hotel managers. Cost control is the one of the most important operation in hotel management. Cost control service of package programs provides managers monitoring overall cost, computing each department’s partial cost, serves information to the different departments of hotel with using information technologies. Cost control is important in the departments which are profitable in hotel. Food and beverage is one these profitable departments which is second profitable department in hotels. It makes profit between mostly 20% and 40% percent. This research aims to understand effects of information technologies during decision-making process. The sample of study is food and beverage managers in 5-star hotel in Istanbul. Questionnaire applied 45 participants.
