Özet: The volume of data stored in the databases of the organizations has increased rapidly in the last decades. Traditional statistical methods have become insufficient for the analysis of data in management information systems. Because of this reason, using soft computing methods have been essential for organizations in order to analyze the useful data and facilitate the strategic decision making processes. Soft computing methods are more advantageous than traditional statistical methods for revealing hidden and useful information in large databases. These methods have been used in business fields like finance, human resources management and marketing and enable organizations to have strategic advantage and gain competitive advantage against their rivals. In this study, firstly the use of soft computing methods will be introduced and then the advantages of these methods comparing to traditional statistical methods will be discussed briefly.
