Özet: The wireless mesh network has achieved success and a permanent development thanks to its usefulness and flexibility compared with the wired networks. Unfortunately, the wireless mesh network and especially the capacity of radio networks are affected by many factors like the topology of networks, resource sharing and radio networks interference, a direct consequence related to these parameters is the fall in capacity, under these conditions, the capacity has become a measurement of the radio operator networks widely studied in literature. In this paper, we had started with the principle that these two approaches are complementary since the methods of optimization are useful in order to evaluate the heuristic ones, this later are quick solutions to get approximate solutions being able to lead to the development of protocols in practice .We have chosen to center our study on three metrics that is that the placement of the access points, the routing and the link scheduling. Initially, based on works done recently, we present a global theoretical mathematical model of optimization of the wireless mesh network which gathers a set of equations related to the metrics listed above, after that, in the second phase, having found that the problem which cannot be solved with an exact method, because of the computing time which increases in an exponential way with each time the number of nodes in the network grew, we suggest a new approach based on the genetic algorithms, this approach aims to find an approximate solution for networks of large sizes, we show that our technique is suitable for this purpose because it provides a good compromise between fast calculation and global solution quality.
