Özet: In this study, a multi objective design of fiber – metal laminates (FMLs) is carried out. The FMLs which are woven glass fiber reinforced polypropylene and an aluminum alloy are configured for maximum impact resistance and minimum weight using Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) and Genetic Algorithm (GA). The Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) is a new socio-politically motivated global search strategy that has recently been introduced for dealing with different optimization tasks that is used in this study. The results of this algorithm are compared with the genetic algorithm results.
