Özet: It is not a novelty that the use of multimedia for educational purposes in order to adapt the teaching and learning process to the technological development represents a clear necessity. On the other hand, nowadays, there is a popular trend which emphasizes on the creation of educational multimedia content by integrating different forms of media in order to obtain the best results on increasing the students’ interest and motivation for a specific area of study. In this sense, this paper illustrates several educational valences of using multimedia technologies, gathering specific achievements of two European Socrates-Comenius 2.1 projects, coordinated by Valahia University Targoviste, Romania: FISTE - A Future Way for In-Service Teacher Training across Europe (118766-CP-1-2004-1-RO-COMENIUS-C21) and VccSSe - Virtual Community Collaborating Space for Science Education (128989-CP-1-2006-1-RO-COMENIUS-C21). Both projects tried to put in evidence the important potential of multimedia in education and exploit it together with the very young pupils through specific implementations in the classrooms. The teachers who were involved in projects’ activities agreed that multimedia learning objects they had developed were very successful in relation to enhance pupils’ learning and increase their motivation.
