Özet: The Business to consumer electronic commerce (B2c e-commerce) was expected to change the shopping experience in the grocery industry, but the path to realize its full potential is still long. Failures as well as important successes proved the importance of logistics as a key factor for success in the online channel, due to its impacts both on customer service and total costs. In this paper, two logistic strategies in the B2c e-commerce of groceries are considered: ‘store based’ and ‘warehouse based’ distribution. They are investigated in order to both identify the critical success factors and to evaluate their impact on the logistic process. After an analysis of their main characteristics, we propose a model to assess the impact of logistics costs on order value (profitability analysis) and compare the two distribution strategies.
