Özet: Development of geographical information systems (GIS) also has caused the development of related technologies as urban information systems (UIS). UIS makes easier to make proper decisions related with space. It easers the collection and storage of data as well as it provides an easy way to make analyses with these data. Newly emerging developments in UIS makes these analyses to implement much more easier. Especially developments in three dimensional visualization processes in UIS increase the perception of decision makers who make significant decisions about cities by increasing their ability to perceive these cities in a proper way. In this paper, a case study about three dimensional visualization in UIS is introduced for Cayyolu-Umitkoy region of Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. With this study, three dimensional visualized UIS enables the perception of space more accurate since it increases the perception ability of decision makers in the cities, comparing with two dimensional UIS.
