Özet: This paper illustrates the research about the importance of using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) on university web pages. A questionnaire was given to students with experience of foreign study. These students were Czechs studying abroad as well as foreigners studying in the Czech Republic or persons who were searching for the university abroad. Respondents were asked about how they find important information. Furthermore, they were asked for details about their internet searches for information about universities such as key words. Firstly, this article presents information about SEO and the need for university web page optimization. Secondly, an analysis is given of the financial benefits coming to universities from foreign students. In the third part, the article presents selected results from the questionnaire research and methodology of evaluation. In conclusion, main results of the questionnaire are given.
