Özet: Companies in the freight transportation industry can currently make use of an increasing number of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) applications to improve the performance of their transportation process. Although these applications are becoming progressively more widespread, there is still little research focusing on their adoption level, especially looking at the contract logistics arena. The present study aims to expand previous research by providing an empirical analysis of ICT adoption in the Third Party Logistics (3PL) industry, involving 45 companies. The paper focuses specifically on Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and develops a general framework of analysis.
