Deploying Argument Visualization for Discussing Climate Change: Lithuania Case

Özet: The importance of ICT in supporting citizens’ involvement in various policy development processes is becoming extremely important. ICT provides variety of tools and techniques enabling active involvement in of citizens. Current paper explore EC supported WAVE initiative which deployed argument visualization tool on several EU countries. The results of successful piloting in Lithuania describing pilot structure and engagement actions are discussed. In general, the most successful aspects of WAVE proved to be the issue of climate change that is considered as paramount by users and policy makers. The dynamic of the tool to contribute to the understanding of an issue also contributed to its success. The overall evaluations of WAVE platform and argument visualization tool are presented in paper as well.
