Özet: Many eye tracking studies investigate which parts of the screen are frequented and what we gaze on. However, even if we gaze on an object, we do not necessarily observe it; or, even if we do observe it, we may prefer another object. This paper analyses the correlation between users gaze and mouse clicks. Results showed differences between fixation and clicking sequences. However, users would find and click on targets that they did not fixate on. This means that the eye tracking method by itself is not sufficient for investigating what users do (not) observe; we should in addition use the mouse clicking method.
