Özet: To design a mechanical transmission with gears one has to be knowledgeable about mechanical transmissions and consequently knowledge about the choice of materials, selection of bearings, shaft design, gear design, and is necessary to consult books. Steps to be taken are found in several books.To help our students or those which wish to learn to design a mechanical transmission, authors propose an application with web interface. The application uses javascript for mathematical calculations. The application guides the user step by step through designing / calculating / selecting each component of mechanical transmission (choice of materials, shafts, bearings, gears) with access to the figures, diagrams, formulas, while making the calculation formulas with data input by the user. Intermediate results can be used in subsequent stages.
