Özet: The world's population increases. So, providing sufficient needs (i.e., foods and water) for human is becoming increasingly difficult. On the other hand, global climate change that affects the water resources is another serious problem of the Planet. Therefore, water stress/scarcity is expected to rise sharply in numerous regions on the world. For this reason, water losses in water-networks have to be controlled and reduced immediately, urgently, and without any cost-avoidance. In this study, a new fuzzy technique called “simple membership functions and fuzzy rules generation technique” used to determine the losses in drinking water-networks. For the aim, Diyarbakir (Turkey) city center was chosen as study area. The monthly data have been collected from 43 quarters of the city center for three years. The data sets include population, water use, water supply, and water losses. The model results were compared with the measured data at hand. It was observed that the fuzzy model developed in this study yielded reliable results.
