Özet: The internet, which has been the most fast growing communication tool of the history, changes our life and its excessive use causes various problems. Many studies on the Internet addiction have been conducted around the world. However, most of these studies deal with psychological dimension of the Internet addiction and do not put sufficient emphasis on its educational dimension. In this research, we aimed to analyze the studies according to variable frequency, work group, data collection tool, research methods and distribution of studies among countries. This study aims to evaluate the results of the publications that are found in the journals “Computers in Human Behavior”, “Computers and Education” and in the database of Ulakbim Turkiye with the keyword “Internet addiction” which were published between 2009 and 2012. This study will give insight into the existing studies and their shortcomings and it will also provide guidance for further research.
