Özet: The design of human-machine interface for devices that determine possible positions using Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) is the topic of this paper. The aim of this work is to simplify the existing complicated mechanism of setting of these devices and to allow their full utilization for naive users as well. The top-down system approach is applied for integration of the GNSS device into the surveying environment. The design of interface is based on the theory of state machine with hierarchical states. The theory of fuzzy sets is used in the design because the values of system parameters exhibit a certain degree of uncertainty. Furthermore, a mathematical model of the surveying process was created and results of design are presented in the form of UML diagrams. Analysis and design of the interface are tested on a specific device called GRS-1 by Topcon Company. The possible interconnection of interface with Geographic Information System (GIS) is discussed in conclusion of the article.
