Özet: This paper describes a command system for an 8x8x8 LED cube. The algorithms implemented in LabVIEW are able to generate visual effects using a data acquisition board connected to a computer. The cube is composed by 512 light emitting diodes connected on 8 layers, each layer having 64 diodes. The application designed in LabVIEW is structured in order to generate visual effects using some different algorithms. LabVIEW is an optimal programming environment for designing applications which require controlling iterations into loop structures. Using array functions and also the subroutines existing in LabVIEW library, soft application presented in this paper can be easily controlled by the user. Video effects can be followed on the front panel of the application and also on the real LED cube using a data acquisition board which is configured to function with 14 digital pinouts. These pins command the combinational logic circuits and also the latches that compose the supplying board of the LED cube. As well, using data acquisition board, the application can select a specified layer by the common LED cathodes of the selected layer.
