Özet: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of ICT between student’s SES and Electronic Reading Literacy (ERL) in computerized test. In this study, PISA 2009 Electronic Reading Assessment data were used and South Korea’s 4,777 cases and Spain’s 4,383 cases were chosen for a comparative analysis. Structural equation modelling and bootstrap method were used. The results showed that statistically positive relationship between student’s SES and ERL was founded, in addition, student’s ‘ICT Access’, ‘ICT Attitude’ and ‘ICT Utility’ mediated partially between them in both countries. These findings imply the advent of new demands for reading education and evaluation in digital environments. Especially, in terms of digital divide derived from student’s economic, social and cultural background, limited opportunity to ICT might have a negative impact on student’s ERL. Thus, it is necessary for public education authorities to support ample opportunity of ICT literacy learning for all students.
