Özet: This paper proposes the definition and study of an ontology as a general and extensible model for conducting competence-based evaluation. This ontology, called OntoCompetence, represents a common framework for the definition of vocabulary and criteria employed in the evaluation of competences. Additionally, it supports a learning evaluation model following the traditional content-based schema. In this manner, it is possible to compare the effectiveness of both approaches. A tool named OntoCompetenceSoft is also presented in this paper, which enables the evaluation of students based on competence by means of the adoption of the ontology as the knowledge model.
