Özet: Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and multi-agent technologies are gaining significant momentum for various applications in healthcare in order to solve some of the issues that healthcare faces with. In order to eliminate the centralized and closed-loop characteristics of the current implemented solutions, different technologies must be exploited. By adopting emerging technologies in designing and deploying new applications for healthcare domain, multiple benefits could be brought, especially on the patient side. At this moment, all the actors playing a role into the healthcare are expecting to communicate with one another and with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems. If different distributed and intelligent resources (e.g., dedicated devices, sensors/detectors, intelligent equipment) are added to this context, a new concept named the Internet of Things (IoT) could be highlighted. With a potential impact on many applications in healthcare subfields, such as elderly and patient care, medical supply chain, logistic, asset management, drug counterfeit detection, etc., the IoT is considered a promise for healthcare domain. This paper deals with some aspects related to IoT adoption in healthcare and with the various challenges healthcare faces during transition from RFID to IoT.
