Özet: The economic activities are place-specific. Space influences the way in which an economic system works. This paper proposes some GIS based software tools, integrated and applied for Romania’s case, designed to help policy makers, entrepreneurship and economic analysts to investigate and evaluate the spatial distribution of economic activities.The proposed solutions use the component based paradigm to develop the software tools, allowing integrating them in various GIS related existing or new developed systems. The tools are developed abstracting on the location of spatial data used. So that the tools are able to be used on any geographic data set available, that is designed with the required structure.
