Özet: With the global trend towards decentralising summative assessment, there is increased attention given to formative school and classroom based assessment. Such a move puts a critical demand on teacher competency in assessment practice. To help teachers create valid, reliable and high quality classroom tests, a group of researchers in Malaysia have attempted to develop an innovative assessment tool referred to as SuperSeTIA (Super Specific Tool for Item Analysis). SuperSeTIA is a software that can help instructors in item development, item management, item analysis and the setting up of an item bank. It can also provide immediate feedback of the test items and help teachers generate items and also automatic reports. This paper reports on the findings obtained from a pilot study conducted to investigate teachers’ perceptions of SuperSeTIA. The study explored aspects such as teachers’ perceived usefulness, ease of use and their attitude and acceptance of SuperSeTIA as an assessment tool for classroom instructors.
