Özet: An empirical study is performed to reveal students’ attitude towards distance learning. Students’ preparedness to make use of distance learning education is discussed. A number of recommendations to exploit information and communication means more effectively are given. The global informatization of society in general and education in particular allowed initiating a concept of distance learning which has become one of the main development vectors of the education system in Russia. The prevalence of technologies in information society imposes its inevitable impact on information communication and processing means in all human life spheres, education system not being an exception.
