Özet: One of the most important difference brought by digital era in architecture is, as many claimed, the new perception of the building body – the materiality of living space. The body of our building becomes, for many of us, just an image, more and more just a point in the network, a temporary location of the self, lacking many important characteristics of traditional living space. But we are used to think that this is just a superficial perception. Contemporary world is one dominated by the cult of images, the excessive visuality, having an important impact upon the built living environment. Critics already declared the death of real architecture, of living environment, as we know it. Can we discuss further about living in such terms? Can contemporary home provide the same physical and emotional protection for the family as always? We promote the idea that each individual perception of living space is particular for every individual or group. It is changed from what we knew about it until now. The materiality remains still actual, but it is modified accordingly. The image is often understood as a simple picture or a drawing, but it is more complex than that. It precedes and transcends the house himself. Image becomes a communication tool in a digital era, a complex element that could and must affect personal space, completing the actual scheme.
