Özet: Vibrations induced by friction are important since they can have adverse effects on dynamic behavior of systems involving friction. In a vibrating dynamic system, they can produce chaos due to the nonlinearity of the phenomenon. It has been shown recently that application of a newly introduced PZT stack impulse damper can very well remove the chaotic behavior of such systems. But due to the presence of several affecting parameters, and the proven sensitivity of the response to the values of these parameters, their proper adjustment is a key issue. It is shown in this work that by defining the problem of suppression of chaotic behavior of a well-known one dimensional friction induced dynamic system, as an multi-objective optimization problem, suitable values of these parameters can be found for which the chaotic behavior is suppressed in a short time with less overshoot, once the damper is started.
