Özet: In a firm, management of innovation might require evaluation of various patterns on knowledge, finance, human capital and cooperation with stakeholders. To reach the ultimate target of increasing innovating firms’ number in Turkey; the main goal of the study is to determine prior innovation activities by taking different criteria effects into account. Based on the Eurostat’s 2010 Innovation Survey data for Turkish firms, Analytic Hierarchy Process method has been applied to examine the priorities. Following the rationale behind criteria selection, two levels of criteria have been considered in the analysis part. The first level includes the knowledge sources of innovation, cooperation among the stakeholders, required skills and capabilities, funding sources and lastly monetary allocations. At the sub-criteria level, a number of different knowledge sources and skills have been refocused. Results reveal that to reach the ultimate goal, firms in Turkey must concentrate on product innovation as the prior alternative, then, non-technical and process innovation activities. Further research directions and potential strategy measures have also been mentioned in the study.
