Özet: During the past few years the deployment and implementation of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has increased widely in many fields due to its mobility and ability to adopt the changing environment. Lots of clustering techniques have been proposed to fulfil the mobility requirement and to distribute the sensors into various environments unpredictable by nature. Energy is very important factor in the life of WSN. Considerable amount of research has been focused on cluster formation but for an efficient cluster, a capable cluster-head formation technique is needed. A proficient cluster-head can play a vital role in extending lifetime of a WSN by reducing the amount of energy consumption. Therefore it is very worthwhile to study different cluster-head formation techniques proposed in the last few years. This paper presents a brief survey along with limitations and problems of techniques presented in last decade for formation of cluster-head.
