Özet: Architectural design progress is consist of data analysis, decission of pre-shape, shape improvment and detailing steps. Decission of pre-shape is problem area by context of creavitiy. CAD softwares are used in order to visualize in design steps. In these steps, pre-shape period is problem area in the context of creativity. Utilization of 2D typological plans database has been examined in Gazi university, department of architecture CAD studio, in order to accelerate obtaining architectural pre-shape. Previously used typological plan schemes of design subject building have been placed into CAD software library as database. In same time, design area has been produced in digital environment by its topographic properties such as slopes, trees etc. It is expected from students to choose one of the typologic schemes which is suitable to functional requirements and to place on the design area. Building sub-components have been placed on plan scheme. In that step, functional relations of sub-components, spatial requirements, direction needs of spaces have been created preliminary architectural composition. In the next step, design process period, studends have obtained final architectural form by using CAD modification tools such as scale, rotate, skew, strech. It is observed that utilization of typologic schemes is shortening the pre-forming in architectural design. Completely new desingns can be obtained by inputs of design environment, directions, climate, styles, technology in design improvment steps.
