Özet: Nowadays, information/data theft has been increasing in proportion to the development of technology. Information security has become mandatory due to the desires of people to access the information. Large numbers of computer crimes are committed today. However, the most important factor in ensuring the success of information and system security is the formation of personal awareness. This study aims to determine the level of information security awareness of engineering students who take online courses. Different questions in information, trend, and behavior levels were asked to students to measure their information security awareness. All factors were evaluated according to their severity while determining the levels of awareness of students. This study is applied in Bahcesehir University, Istanbul, in 2012-2013 academic years, on engineering students who take Introduction to Information Technologies course. In this context, this study aims to measure the level of information security awareness of students and increase these levels by planning training activities and education.
