Özet: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the project-based learning approach on 2nd grade physics education students’ achievement in electrostatic. The study was carried out with two equal groups of students 20 of whom were in the experimental group and 20 of whom were in the control group. An electrostatic concept achievement test was applied to determine the students’ achievement in electrostatic. In order to take students’ opinions about the applications, verbal and written exams were applied. Electrostatic was studied according to the project-based learning approach by the experimental group and through traditional methods by the control group. The analysis conducted revealed a significant difference in favour of the experimental group. In addition, as a result of the observations and interviews, the students who were taught by the project-based learning approach pointed out that during the project-based learning activities, they were more active and had more enjoyable time.
