Özet: The purpose of this study was to determine the students’ views about social networks who were active users of the Internet and social networks in their daily lives. The present study was designed as a case study, with the participants of the study being 50 7 th grade students attending a private elementary school in Turkey in the academic year of 2011-2012. In order to collect the research data, techniques such as interview, questionnaire and document analysis were applied. Within the students the most using social network is Facebook, than YouTube, blogs and Twitter just before the last one which is MySpace. The students’ views about social networks revealed that Twitter was not a social network preferred especially by students. The students mostly used social networks for communication purpose.
