Özet: The aim of this study is twofold: on the first hand, it offers an evaluation on the discipline of IslamicPhilosophy, which is part of the curriculum of the faculties of divinity, studies conducted in thefield, and the perception of “Islamic Philosophy” among the scholars which appear in these studies.And on the second, this study briefly tackles certain issues that affect academic researches in oneway or another. Also found in this evaluation are suggestions made towards untangling certaintheoretical problems concerning the conception of the discipline and some concrete proposals as towhat to do for the improvement in the quality of studies in the field.
