Özet: Spirulina is photosynthetic, filamentous, spiral-shaped, multicellular and green-blue microalga. The two most important species of which areSpirulina maxima and Spirulina platensis. Since its chemical composition includes proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acidsand pigments like chlorophyll a, carotenes and phycocyanin, it is considered an excellent food and feed. It also used in medicine and cosmeticindustries. Because of its nutritional, medical and biological value, genetic studies on Spirulina have been increased all over the world to developnew strains gained new properties.
