Özet: ACC (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate ) deaminase is a multimeric enzyme with a subunit molecular mass of approximately 35-42kDa. Recently, it has been discovered that certain soil microorganisms contain an enzyme ACC-deaminase that hydrolyses ACC intoammonia and α-ketobutyrate. The ACC deaminase-containing soil bacteria decrease a significant portion of the physiological damage toplants following environmental stresses including phytopathogen infection, exposure to extremes of temperature, high salt, flooding, drought, exposure to metals and organic contaminants, and insect predation. This enzyme has subsequently been detected in a wide range of bacterialstrains and fungi. A number of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), belonging to various taxonomic groups includingPseudomonas, contain the enzyme 1 aminocyclopropane- 1-carboxylate (ACC) deaminase. ACC deaminase from bacteria Pseudomonasputida and Pseudomonas fluorescens, Enterobacter cloacae and, Kluyvera ascorbata, and yeast Hansenula saturnus, and fungus Penicilliumcitrinum have been reported. This review provides an overview to ACC deaminase containing microorganisms.
